Biography
Prof. Dr. Clara Viñas Teixidor graduated in Chemistry at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona and later in Pharmacy at the Universitat de Barcelona. She worked as a pre-doctoral student at the Prof. Rudolph’s laboratory at The University of Michigan for a year. She is a Research Professor at the Institut de Ciència de Materials de Barcelona that belongs to the Spanish Council for Scientific Research since 2006. Previously, she worked in an industry dedicated to recovery of industrial residual waters, and at public institution involved in food science analysis as well as environmental control.
Her fields of research involve synthesis and derivatisation of boron clusters to be applied in medicine and biosensors, among others.

Short Biography of Prof. Ramzi MAALEJ
​
Ramzi Maalej was born in 1972. He received MS degree in Physics from the University of Sfax in 1995, PhD in Quantum Physics from University of Tunis El Manar in 2001 and Habilitaion HDR in 2007. He is presently full professor of Physics at the University of Sfax, Tunisia. He is leading the research group “Photonic and Advanced Materials”. His Current research interests include theoretical and experimental studies of nanomaterials for emerging forensic technologies, optical sensors, nanobiosensors... He co-authored more than 55 peer-reviewed scientific journals. He supervised 11 PhD students. He is actually principal investigator of many multidisciplinary funded projects. He is the chair of three editions of the international conference on engineering sciences in biology and medicine ESBM. He is associate editor of IEEE transactions on nanobiosciences Journal and member of the Arab Society of Forensic Sciences and Forensic Medicine.
